ACS Binghamton Local Section Outstanding Chemistry Senior

The American Chemical Society is one of the world’s largest scientific societies. SUNY Oneonta is one of four institutions in the ACS Binghamton Local Section. One senior from each institution is recognized at the annual awards ceremony at SUNY Binghamton.

ACS Undergraduate Awards

Each year, members of the faculty nominate students who have demonstrated excellence in the traditional divisions of chemistry. We congratulate these students for their outstanding efforts and accomplishments.

The American Institute of Chemists Award

One outstanding student is recognized each year on the basis of a demonstrated record in leadership ability, character, scholastic achievement, and advancement potential in the chemical professions.

Academic Achievement Award

The academic achievement award honors the exceptional senior from each department and program at SUNY Oneonta. The selected student must be a senior with a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the major and should have significant participation in academic or professional pursuits. Included here are the awardees from the Chemistry & Biochemistry Department.

Dr. John C. Kotz Fund for Innovations in the Sciences

This award is made to full-time students who have not only demonstrated exceptional promise in chemistry and related sciences, and in the liberal arts, but who have also been good citizens of the university.
