Overview

Political Science is the study of governments, policies, and political processes, ideas, values and behavior in the United States and around the world. As a Political Science major, you’ll be encouraged to analyze political phenomenon from both scientific and philosophical points of view, graduating with the writing, communication, analytical and data skills to support your success in a wide spectrum of careers.

Hands-On Learning

You'll have many opportunities to learn by doing, including research, club activities and intensive simulations like the annual Model UN conference in New York City, where you can network with students from around the world. The Political Science Department offers a range of internships for students interested in politics and government—in Washington, D.C.;  Albany, N.Y.; internationally; locally or even in your own hometown.
