SUNY Oneonta’s Lake and Watershed Science microcredential provides you with the following skills:

• Technical expertise in equipment calibration, use and maintenance
• Boat, trailer and small engine handling and troubleshooting
• Foundational theoretical knowledge and applied skills in lake and watershed monitoring
• Development of lake and watershed management goals and objectives
• Exposure to a wide variety of conservation and management techniques and alternatives commonly used in the field
• A variety of project management skills related to the development and implementation of lake and watershed management plans

• BIOL 5104 Lake Monitoring (4 s.h.)
• BIOL 5106 Applied Limnology (4 s.h.)

Competencies

Upon completion of the program, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to:

• Understand the elements and functions of aquatic systems and the features and processes of watersheds that affect lakes
• Define watershed problems and develop goals and objectives to meet them
• Track projects, funds and human resources in a manner that is accountable and transparent
