SUNY Oneonta’s Marketing major is based upon an understanding of the fundamental principles of the business areas, including Economics, Accounting, Management, Management Information Systems, Business Law and Finance. The program has a particular emphasis in marketing management, advertising management, marketing research, digital marketing and consumer behavior.

What is Marketing?
Marketing is approached as the activities, sets of institutions and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and the society at large.
What You Will Learn
The Marketing major has a rigorous curriculum that includes the core Business Administration courses and 18 hours of Marketing courses. You’ll leave SUNY Oneonta prepared to exercise your intellectual capacity, acquire disciplinary knowledge and analytical skills, value diversity in people and ideas, and develop ethical decision-making abilities. All students complete a capstone course Marketing Management.

Hands-On Learning
The Marketing Club (OnMark) attends the International Collegiate Conference of the American Marketing Association (AMA) each year. The event provides the opportunity to attend presentations by speakers in the field, participate in case competitions and network with members of other AMA chapters. OnMark is consistently recognized as one of the top 10 award-winning collegiate chapters.
