International Studies Major

Overview

Increasingly complex local, national and international problems require interdisciplinary approaches for resolution. SUNY Oneonta's International Studies program is built around the social sciences and includes coursework in the humanities, especially languages, literature and culture. The hallmark of the program is its flexibility, and you'll work with your adviser to design a program of study based on your career goals.

Hands-On Learning

You'll have many opportunities to learn by doing, including internships, research, club activities and intensive simulations like the annual Model UN conference in New York City, where you can network with students from around the world. Immerse yourself in another culture by studying abroad as part of a short-term faculty-led trip or a semester-long study abroad program.
