Overview
SUNY Oneonta’s Chemistry program has been approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS) for more than 40 years and has two degree options. The B.S. degree affords ACS certification and includes coursework in five disciplines: inorganic, organic, analytical, physical and biochemistry. Hands-On Learning
Oneonta Chemistry majors get personal attention in small labs and have many opportunities to learn by doing. Many students work on research projects with faculty and successfully apply each year for campus grants to fund independent research supplies and travel to regional and national scientific meetings. Students frequently obtain paid summer research internships on campus, at large universities or in the chemical industry.
